Changing & updating nameservers

Changing nameservers happens when a client is transferring ALL of their web services to Build Your Firm. So, we will manage the website, email and antispam.

The basic instructions for switching nameservers is as follows:[edit]

  • Log into the registrar acccount with customer's username and password.
  • Locate the area which allows you to manage the domain name
  • There should be an area to modify the nameservers (could be Advanced DNS or Manage Domain)
  • Find the form that allows you to edit the domain's nameservers
  • Enter ns1.byfcpasites.com as the first nameserver, ns2.byfcpasites.com as the second. Click OK.
  • You should get a message back stating that the changes have been submitted.

To change nameservers at GoDaddy:[edit]

  • Log into Godaddy with customer's username and password.
  • In main navigation menu under All Products go to Domains > Domain Management
  • Click on the domain name itself which opens up the Domain Details page
  • Under Nameservers, click the Set Nameservers link
  • Select I have specific nameservers for my domains
  • Enter ns1.byfcpasites.com as the first nameserver, ns2.byfcpasites.com as the second. Click OK.
  • You should get a message back stating that the changes have been submitted.
